The XM6 weighs over a hundred grams less than my Max, doesn’t press an aluminium headband into my skull, and folds flat into a bag instead of demanding its own luggage. Whether hour six feels different is still a promise on a spec sheet. 254 grams isn’t nothing on your head either.
Thirty hours against my twenty
The Max manages twenty hours on a good day; Sony claims thirty, and three minutes on the charger buys back a few hours. They’ve been boringly honest about battery numbers for three generations, which is why I believe the spec sheet.

Sony’s 30-hour and 3-minute quick-charge figures are the manufacturer’s ratings; I haven’t worn a pair on an actual long-haul flight to see how the ANC and comfort hold up against my Max.

Does the XM6 work as well for calls as the AirPods Max?

Is folding flat worth mentioning as a feature?
My Max needs its own case and basically its own compartment. Something that folds into a normal bag pocket is the difference between packing it and leaving it behind.
Is the AirPods Max 2 worth ₹28,000 more if I’m already all-in on Apple?
If switching between an iPhone, iPad and Mac without thinking about it matters more to you than weight or battery, I’d understand it. I’ve just decided that isn’t the trade I want to make.
